I'm looking for a program/app/whatever to acquire my own password on another message board (most likely by the brute force method). I signed up a long time ago and no longer have (or even remember) the email address that I could use for password recovery. I'll admit that I know VERY little about this, so any info you have on the subject would be appreciated.

Not sure this is too appropriate. You should just contact support to see if you can prove yourself to get the information to the account back. We can't condone brute-forcing because (believe it or not) it can be used for the wrong reasons.

How do we know you dont just want to hack into OUR accounts?

Any modern database that stores passwords doesn't store then in a readable format. It's either all "*" or it's one and you don't even know the length of the password. In which case the only way to retrieve the password is if the database can email you it, reset it it's self (like Yahoo email) or you have the administrator reset the password for you. But if the system can't email you the current password it's very, very unlikely that you can retrieve it any other means.
