NDS: Who's got an R4/M3?

Hi folks,
I followed the Supercard Lite for months, but after further research I'm now leaning more towards the R4/M3 combo. My questions:

-Where did you order them from, and how was the service, shipping, etc?
-Are you happy with 'em?
-Anyone know how GBA compatibility is between the different M3 slot-2 carts? There are 4+ different ones and I'm reading different info on different sites. Some say the 'M3 Pro' is the best for GBA stuff, some say the 'M3 Perfect' is the best one, and some say the plain old 'M3' is the one I should be looking for.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I've got an r4ds and an assortment of gba m3 devices and I'm very happy with the R4ds/m3 equivalent. Very few roms have trouble and it's a breeze to use--no patching required.

as for the slot 2 m3's I have an sd lite and a minisd unit. I've been very happy with the larger unit which has very good gba compatibility, but I've had troubles with my newer m3 minisd not working for beans and had zero customer support from m3, so I'm looking for an ezflash4 to replace it with very soon. $85 down the drain.

also don't just buy an m3 because of rtc support--even with rom patching I've never gotten it to work. and stay away from the 'pro' m3 versions because they don't support gba games.

I just recently got the R4, and I love it. It has huge support, tons of rom compatability and it's fast and easy to setup. I got mine from DealExtreme. They're great and cheap too. I got my R4 + 1GB MicroSD card for $49.95 Here's a link to a 2GB one for only $10 more: Linky

I have a R4 and I am happy with it, Theonly problem I have had is people couldent download play of me.

I already have two 1GB cards of them I picked up from Newegg awhile back that I plan on using (one for each card) and I think that'll be plenty big for me.

Everyone else, thanks for the info also. Keep it coming! So far I know to avoid the M3 Pro, since I'll be using slot-2 for GBA stuff only.

I'm happy with it. I got lucky cause the day it came was the day that Pokemon D/P got leaked one day early onto the internet! I had the game beaten on release day lol

For Slot 2 technology, go for the EZ Flash 4 or the 3 in 1 They're good, and have GBA support. They DO work with the R4, and the compatibility is 99.9%

Just some info, in my experience with the 1 GB microSD card, it will hold about 15-20 DS Games (For Slot 1 Devices) and about 35-40 GBA Games (For Slot 2 Devices)

I think the amount of space you noted in your post will be perfect for me. Currently I'm running a 512MBit GBA flash cart that I paid like $180 for in 2002, LOL.

My only concern about the EZFlash is that it's only 256MBit on-board, and not expandable. The way it fits flush is nice, but 256MBit will only hold like 3-4 GBA roms, tops.

unless I'm missing what you're saying the newer ezflashes are expandable. Like most modern flashcarts, they have 256mbit of ram that they load the rom from SD into.

you're right though, the ancient ones are fixed flash size, but anything IV or beyond is removable media as far as I know.

The EZ Flash 4 uses microSD cards and is expandable, and the 3 in 1 uses built in memory, but can run games from the R4's microSD Card.

I just looked up the EZ-Flash IV and noticed that it's GBA-slot sized, not NDSL-slot sized. I need something that'll fit flat in the NSDL (otherwise I'd just keep my 512MBit Xtreme, LOL). I guess I'll need to go with either the EZF 3-in-1 or one of the M3 solutions (but not the PRO, as I've been told here).

Who's running an EZF 3-in-1 with an R4? Did I read correctly that you can use the EZF to load GBA roms right off of the R4 card, instead of being limited to the 256MBit on-board of the EZF? That is pretty neat. I'd prefer to have a slot-2 with dedicated storage (microSD slot) so I can load it up with stuff, but the EZF is looking more and more tempting.

I'm definitely decided on the R4.

EZ Flash 4 with another micro-SD Card is a great option. Just make sure you read and make sure its a GBA Model
