Super Gameboy Advance?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

One so you dont have to buy repackaged games for the DS and two its cool to your own stuff.

I was thinking of doing the exact thing. would it be possible and/or has anyone already made a super gameboy advance?

First of all, the N64 is 64-bit, DS is 32-bit. Second of all, we all already had this debate a year ago about whether the DS would be powerful enough to do this.

Its not just a matter of rerouting pins. You would have to recompile all the code / instructions live. No way this is ever going to happen.

The ds & N64 have different chipsets, not to mention the 32 vs 64 bit issue.

Thanks for the 2 year bump, yo.

Anyways, I wasn't around for this topic and would like to say it would be useless to try to bend the circuitry of the already-existing Super Game Boy, because you wouldn't be able to modify the circuit enough to make it play Advanced games. Just hook your GBA up to your TV and build an external SNES controller.

No, you can't do it easily. You would have to build the converter from scratch.

If you want a Super Game Boy Advance buy a Gamecube and a Game Boy Player, or track down a GBA Transverter and rig it into an old style GBA. (Sort of like the Game Boy Somewhat-Less Portable.)

If you're interested in emulators on a TV, buy a PC to TV converter box and run emulators on a real computer. (It will do a lot more than the GBA.)

First the N64 was not a real 64bit system, proof

Secondly about hte only thing that can be comparable of those two CPUs is that they both are RISC. I'll say this though the ARM9 that is in the DS is far more powerful. First it has more ram (both system and L2) and secondly the graphics capability of the DS is better, hands down.

Lastly it was agreed that the DS couldn't emulate the N64 games.

As for what Bicostp said. The transverter, good luck, I can't find anyone that still sales them. It's be best to just invest the extra money and time to make a Gamecube with a Gameboy adapter. That way you get more bang for you buck.

hmm, well I have a gamecube and a gameboy player, I just thought it would be better to top load the games into my (much easier to carry) snes. So, what if I just took apart a GBA and a super gameboy case?
idk...it would just seem more like the good old days, playing new games on my super nintendo once again :)

Also you need to actually make the screen load the actual picture. This would be hard. Even harder then your euhm thing when you see Korean chicks. (just kidding)
