Why are mod chip installs so hard? My new fidnings!!!

I was just looking at my motherboards (V Eight) BIOS... Why do all those mod chip installation diagrams tell you to solder directly to the BIOS pins themselves instead of the, (clearly easier and completely accessible) solder joint they connect to on the bottom of the board... As long as you corerectly identify each leg on the bottom with the correct leg in your diagram, would this achieve the same result, making installs so the more EASIER!? Jeez! I wouldnt have fried my first PS2 if I knew this! Anyway, just so everyone knows... If you install a mod chip, use the bottom its so much more easier... Even though the points are really close, its soooo much more easier to clear solder and fix a bridge then if you connect 2 or 3 legs together. Trust me! Especially if you have de-soldering braid! Just thought I would share this for everyone...
