Stacker game.

Post by Kurt_ »

Everyone has a stacker game. This thing:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stacker_(game)

There's one at the local theatre that I won once already, and I plan to go there until the difficulty level gets cranked.

I would like to practice, but I can't find any games online.

Does anybody know a site that has a game like this? Or will someone who knows the game make me one?

omg, I hate that. when I worked at Dutch Wonderland last year, that thing drove me insane!

It kept saying "Stacker!" in a highly annoying voice! But it did have a 512 MB MP3 player in it. But the voice was so annoying!

I saw one at a bowling alley that had an Xbox 360 in it! I was one line away from winning it!!!

(Well actually it was a ticket for a guy to drive to the bowling alley and give it to you. But it was still awesome)

The same machine also had two iPod nanos and a digital camera in it!!!

I saw one of these at a movie theater awhile ago. After my friend and I saw Casino Royale, we had to wait until my sister's movie was over (Happy Feet), and we stood in front of one of those things. They, of course, had a bunch of DVD's in it. While we were standing there (about 20 minutes), at least $50 was pumped into that machine, with only one winner. I've learned to stay away from those things, except when it's not my money I'm wasting. :P

I have played that game so many times its not even funny. I only won once and the one I played on gives you a random prize and I managed to win a cheesy cell phone. If I were anyone dont play this game. Your whole wallet will be obliterated within 5 minutes of playing!!!

MAN! I played one of those at a big truck stop and it had a gameboy SP with pokemon fire red. I won! I got all of them stacked up and everything and it didn't even give me the prize! I was pissed to the extreme. Also it was my first time trying when i won so i don't understand why it did not give me the damn prize..

I got a phone call when I was at work one time (video game department).
This guy had won a PSP from one of those games at a local pizza/fun zone place. He said he spent 15 bucks on it and then he won. He was asking me what cool games there were for it so I gave him a couple and lied about the others... But then a few weeks later, a lady came in looking for the PSP section. When I showed her where all the PSP games and accessories were she told me why she was looking for them. Evidently her son had won a PSP out of the exact same machine that the other guy had. So now she was looking for games for her son.

I played one of those in when I visited Hawaii for marching band. (I know, I'm a nerd :)) Anyways, they had one of those in the arcade there. Only a quarter to play :D I only spent 2 bucks cause I didnt want to waste it all on that, but the closest I got was the 2nd line from the top.

yeah, I played them quite a bit last time I was in vegas for $.50 a play at Excalibur. Now they've started popping up in local shopping malls for $2 a play. Judging by how poorly I did when I killed a good part of an afternoon on them, I don't think I want to bother.

It's like anything else, the difficulty is controlled, but generally fairly brutal. According to the wikipedia (here) the maximum difficulty is 1/800. I'm not sure how that's calculated, maybe it's per hit on the top line.

there must be a strategy site somewhere which explains at the very least the logic behind the difficulty levels and the relative odds of each level in detail. It's a talent I wouldn't mind having.

Really crane machine is more my thing. and I have a pile of watches that don't keep the time to prove it. But it's too hard to find a crane machine with anything good in it now that the stacker machines are here. I haven't seen one with a price worth more than $50--heck even $5 in a long while.

There's an arcade a few miles from me that has one, I got to the top a few times but I just couldn't get it and so I burned out about $5 worth of quarters. I know the game is all about timing but as I didn't feel like burning through another $5 to get the timing down, I gave up.

And yeah they had some nice items in there, I played it at the time to try and get e GBA SP (onyx) they had.
