I have a SD card slot on a board. I want to wire up a USB slot on the board. maybe even remove the SD Slot and Replace it with a USB slot (Female end)?
I would prefer the USB SLOT(Female) end to be the USB-Mini.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to do this?

USB and SD cards don't use the same protocol, so just wiring up USB to an SD slot would be useless.
What device is this? If it's a laptop, you may be able to remove the SD card controller chip to gain access to the USB lines it uses, though you may need additional buffering circuitry and/or signal voltage level adjustments.

You need to have a chip decoder to translate the data from the SD to USB. If the SD slot you have goes to a USB port on the motherboard then there shouldn't be a problem, check to be sure. If it doesn't go to a USB host, say like the multi card reader on my laptop (zv6123cl), you'll have to look for a USB host port, or simply buy a USB hub and branch off an existing USB port.
