Same here. Also, I'd own my Wii even if I could only use it to browse the web, read the news, look at the weather, & vote!

WiiConnect24 &/or Nintendo WiFi Connection are completely free. I actually believe there are already a few online games released already.

That pokemon one is (I want that heaps! but it's not out yet
) I finished tp ages ago, and its the only game I got (apart from wii sports), It's probably the best game I ever played, I'ts awesome, it's why I got a wii trust me it's worth it. I'm saving up for a force fx lightsaber so I'll get a wii game later.

I'd say get one. Wii Sports is just plain fun, Zelda and Paper Mario are good, Trauma Center is really fun but really hard, and of course this year the big three are coming out (Smash Bros., Mario Galaxy, Metroid).

It really depends what type of games you like. I would recommend trying out the 360 and Wii (sounds like you have no interest in a PS3), and check out sites like gamespot.com, prior to making a purchase.
Most people on these forums are big fans of the Wii, so asking if you should buy one here is kind of like going on to a Halo site and asking if you should get Halo 3.
I'm always a big fan of the try before you buy mentality. I mean, you wouldn't buy a car without taking it for a test drive. Right?
The same holds true for a gaming console.
Of course... You could just buy both.

So essentially it's a Zeldadapter / party machine?
Think about what kind of games you want to play. Do you want technology or novelty?
I recommend you get a 360, as long as not being able to play Mario games doesn't bother you. It's more expensive but you get what you pay for: high definition support, a huge library of bigger, more advanced games, and Xbox Live. It offers the most bang for your buck.
The PS3 is shiny and the most powerful, but it's also the most expensive and has as few games out as the Wii so you'll probably want skip it.
Just don't say I'm biased because I didn't praise the Wii; you guys are show just as much bias (though in the opposite direction) by kissing Nintendo's butt.

As someone who owns both the 360 and the Wii, I must say each has their place, but I personally get way more play out of the Wii. Sure, 360 has some great titles (love Dead Rising
) but the Wii just has some extremely promising hardware opportunities. Already, we have Super Paper Mario, Twilight Princess, WarioWare, Metal Slug Anthologies, Wii Sports, Godfather: Blackhand Edition, and despite some criticism, Sonic and the Secret Rings is also a great game. Not to mention the numerous great games that are on the way! The 360 is awesome for keeping up with the times, but as a guy who wishes it was still the 16-bit era, I think the Wii does my soul good.

The wii is OK, though expect to wait a while for some good long titles to come out -
Metal Slug Anthology is great fun, but you could complete it in 2 days
Kororinpa is suprisingly difficult for its appearance, you can easily complete it in around 2 weeks though.
Warioware is OK, takes only 5 hours of constant play to unlock Pyoro S though.
The only things which make the Wii worthwile just now are VC games - They're the lifeblood of the wii inbetween the scarce good releases.
If you're gonna get a wii, I'd recommend you leave it for a bit
