Ya, once you give it a bit of time, it gets better. We just buried him, and that relieved much off of my shoulders. Of course, he'll always be in my heart, but life goes on.
I've seen various kittens die. Hell, sometimes I'll just be walking in my back yard & I'll see a dead kitten! Also, one time last winter, this one cat died close to the back porch, & everyone was sick, so it didn't get buried until a month later. Luckily, that winter, every night met freezing tempuratures (EXTREMELY cold temperatures, whilst talking about Sacramento), so it didn't decompose, just some maggots here & there.
Also among animals I've seen & go: Ducks (about 5 to be exact), 2 hampsters, a gold fish, & 2 goats, although they don't count, because we where the ones who killed them...and them ate them...
When my hamster died (Grade 7, I believe, which would make me 12) I cried for a bit but after the day was over I was better. We buried him in the backyard, and planted tulips over him by accident years later. Hamsters make good fertilizer.
Sorry to hear that man. I've lost more pets in my lifetime than I care to recall. It's never easy, but in time you WILL get over it (mostly, if not fully, depending on how attached you were and how long you had said pet for).
Then you can get another one, maybe, that looks just like your former pet.
Last year when my dog left this world she was 13 the same age as me. I literally grew up with her it felt like losing apart of my life. Took me about a year to recover from that. Thats really the only pet ive lost so far except a few fish that lived for like a couple of weeks since they all ate each other.
I had a canary once. One day we forgot to put blankets over the window and a small draft came in. Poor thing froze. It took me maybe 2 weeks to get over losing her.
Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when pushed down a staircase.

Oh yeah thanks for that. Heartless bastard.
Sorry to hear him go sky. To tell you the truth I just kind of live with it. When my dog died I shed some tears and trudged through it. You'll feel better in a little while.
