guitar amp question

is it possible to make my guitar amp run off of a battery?
it is a 15 watt amp, not too big
i was hoping i could make it like a boombox and have the option to run off of battery

It depends. Take a look at it and see if it has a transverter or the likes on it, or if the system runs off 120V.

it has a transformer so can i just check the DC voltage the transformer outputs and then hook up u a switch and and a battery with the same voltage?

keeping in mind that a 15w amp is probably using 20w of power. so lets say its runs on 12v, thats almost 2A of current.

just saying, this isnt something you try to run of AA batteries.

its not too hard to do though, if it takes DC voltage like you said. (mine just has a standard 'computer power cord' and takes 120v externally)

yea check the wattage, if that is over 30 forget it, you would need a car battery for seious results

you can however buy a book called Electronic projects for musicians or guitaarists can't remember

It has a full project plan for a bunch of stuff, including a portable amp with headphone plugs

iv decided to just keep my amp attached to the cord for now
