Quick RGB Question

Post by schmellyfart »

I connected my PSOne screen to my genesis via composite and the picture is quite blurry. So I was thinking about connecting it via RGB, and I remember reading something about using capicators on RGB. Do I have to connect capicators on the RGB lines, or will it be fine without them?

IIRC you have to connect 220uF capacitors in series with the color lines

By in series do you mean have the postive leg of the caps on each of the RGB lines then the ground legs of the caps on ground?

Like:

Code: Select all

(R out)----[220uF]----(R in)
(G out)----[220uF]----(G in)
(B out)----[220uF]----(B in)
(C sync out)----------(C sync in)
And non-polarized capacitor I'd assume.

do you need any resistors and does this apply to all genesis models or a specific one I am trying to do the same thing on a genesis II

No you just need the caps. I think this applies to any RGB mod. But I am also doing this witha Genesis II/2/two/whatever...

I couldnt find any non polarized caps of that value so i started working on the case :D
