hey. i have a DS already, and im loving it, but my cousin has a PSP she wants to sell it, basically new. so im woundering.. is the PSP THAT BAD? or is it worth it if i can get it cheap. a couple games catch my eye, (DBZ, NFS,) and the movie feature, and music, sounds pretty cool. so, is it worth it?
If it can run homebrew and its an ok price, get it. There have been several people that said "GP2x is pwnzerz and PSP is suxx0rz", but when they got a PSP, they found it to be a pretty good system. Get at least a 1GB memory stick, thats be enough for some homebrew, music, and maybe a movie.

Do you run homebrew? Thats why I got my PSP, along with being a multimedia player. Most commercial games really aren't that good, though.
I like thinking the PSP sucks, but I know it's amazing, I just like Nintendo better. So I say, get one, you can play Nintendo games and videos and stuff on it. You BETTER not buy any games for it though.

As much as I hate Sony and love Nintendo and the exclusiveness of GP2x, I must say the PSP ousts the competition in nearly every realm if you've got it set up right. I'm running 3.40OE custom firmware, and the emulation and homebrew is simply amazing. Fullspeed PSX in your pocket is just incredible, and of course the lesser systems are all full speed as well. For actual PSP games, there are a few goodies, but it's mainly for media and homebrew; going in, you also have to know that if you want to get the most out of your machine, you're gonna have to screw around with the BIOS a lot, a risky and time-consuming process that could potentially end in a bricked PSP. Proceed with caution.
I'd say grab it. If the firmware is too recent for downgrading, just throw it in a drawer for a few months and dig it out later when a downgrader is released. Homebrew and media (mainly homebrew) are definitely worth it.
