Hmm, Microsoft program help

Hello, when I was on the phone with MDG, the representitive told me to download Direct X, and something else that computers dont autonmatically come with.

Its a "benchmark" (I think he said benchmark), that deals with MSN, and Gaming and such. It basically makes games, music, and MSN run better.

Its made by Microsoft, but I forget the name of the program.

Does anyone know?
