Micro PS2?

I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to take a slim ps2 and shrink it down so that the case would resemble a CD Walkman, just like Sega did with the CDX? Has anyone heard of this being done or if its even possible, I would love to have a ps2 that small.

Well, the thing with the CDX is that it looks small, but is probably three or four times the size of a Walkman. You could get a slim PS2 to do something close to what you want, but you wont get it to Walkman size without, close to what Felino said, burning out the PS2's motherboard (which is already substantially larger than the Walkman).

Eh... that's a much bigger deal than say... frying an N64 mobo.

This would be PLAUSABLE. If you somehow, cut down the board, and kinda stacked everything up, gamecube style. I dunno how big it would be though.

Also, I dunno how you could make the disk drive similar to a CD player disk drive. (Like, On the ps2 the disk drive comes out. On a cd player, you open a bay door.)

i think he's talking about the slim ps2, those the lids flip up like a cd player. only the fat ps2 had the disk drive that came out.

If you'd like to simulate the heat that thing would generate, get six D-batteries. Find some battery clips, and clip 'em in. Wire up all the wires in the right direction, then put it in your pocket, or swallow it. Then, just wait.

Arent you guys forgetting that this thing needs a power source?

sony's engineers worked hard to make the slim ps2 as slim as it is. I dont think its going to get much smaller. Anyways, isnt the circuit board inside the length of the unit?

1) Wait for technology to advance 10-15 years
2) Buy the smallest PC you can find
3) Run a PS2 emulator & store a bunch of images on it.

I've been out of the loop for a while, how good are PS2 emulators and what are the requirements? I know of a 3.5" biscuit motherboard (the size of a floppy drive) that can take Core Duo processors for a little over $300. Add in a 12GB CF card($150 after rebate) and you could store a fair number of games. It'd be difficult to cram it all together, and expensive, but you could definitely cram a PC into the volume of walkman/discman.

It's actually about a half an inch shorter than the plastic. but not walkman sized.
