I've done this debug menu MANY times, I've search all the way through it, there is nothing to label moves or AR to label moves.Turbo Tax 1.0 wrote:its not a glitch I remember reading somewhere on Smash world forums once that the debug menu accesed with an AR can label moves and a wavedash was recognised as a super wave landing or something like that
the deepest I could have gone in the Debug Menu was check each line of code for the game, and I did'nt feel like searching through all the code.
and hey if your getting yelled at for using wavedashing, thats your own dang falt, My friends don't play Mario Kart DS with me anymore because I always win, and they know I snake, and even when I don't snake and still win, they still think I snaked and now look at it, Im shunned for being a supposed cheater in Mario Kart. (Well shunned from playing mario Kart with anybody)
I mean, everyone quits on me Online so I can't even go 4 Races without somebody quitting and only have 1 person left at the end of the 4th race.
So I don't play online.

Firstly, AR doesn't label the moves, the game labels the moves (in debug mode, which AR on enables). Secondly, there's no way you could access all of the game's code; it's already compiled and the developers would never leave that much open to the public.
Azen and chillin are among the top world (or at least AmericanTurbo Tax 1.0 wrote:went to a tournament once
to many top players were there so pretty much no one stood a chance, I got dunked though
azen and chillin were 2 that i remember being there, I think they are actually the mlg team champs or something like that
I play with ice climbers, dk, fox, falco, and samus a few others also .
cant wait for brawl though
I've been to several tournaments in the past (probably 9 or 10 by now, I've lost count). I don't usually do too well, but damn, playing with professional players REALLY helped me improve my game. Wavedashing has become an unbreakable habit in my game. Although it's not as useful as it's been hyped up to be, it's great to be able to shinedash and edgegrab easily with wavedashing.
I main Falco, Ganondorf, Fox and Peach; Falco because of stun lasers and pillaring, Ganondorf because of power + versatility (he's really not that laggy), Fox because of his deathly shine attack, and Peach because of... well, she's completely broken. Several-dozen-%-damage down-smash FTW.
I made a screenshot of what Turbo Tax is talking about. The label at the top says "LANDINGFALLSPECIAL," so the game definitely has defined the "wavedash" as a valid move, and thus I don't believe it's a glitch; it's merely an action that the programmers added for 'what happens when someone l-dodges onto a surface' and 'what prevents you from going right through the surface'. In a way, wavedashing is an anti-glitch, because it prevents you from possibly l-dodging through the main portion of a stage. The action has just been overlooked by the programmers and exploited by the players, that's all.

The funny thing is if you got to an MLG event, it's just about entirely Halo and then there's a little corner of the room set up for SSB that no one pays much attention to.JeffMan wrote:Azen and chillin are among the top world (or at least AmericanTurbo Tax 1.0 wrote:went to a tournament once

WINNER!
Skyone won with his guess of Yoshi, the most obscure character in the game. I had two or more guesses of ALL other characters first. Even Captain Falcon.

Hey, I know this thread is old, but it's still on the first page so I figured it'd be okay. I just couldn't miss out on this thread... I don't know how I missed it a month ago!
Me and my brother have been to two tournaments, and I recorded footage from one of them. I haven't uploaded it yet because I'm waiting for Phil (one of the tournament organizers) to send me a description, but it wasn't very good anyway. It's the finals, which my brother made it to (yay!) and got destroyed in (boo) by an asian guy.
We've known him for a while though, and have played him in SSBM before, so as soon as we knew he was going to be there we knew he was gonna win. But, we were just happy my brother made it to the finals! It was double elimination, and I lost in the first round, then blew through the losers bracket and got beat in the losers bracket FINALS by Phil (asian), consequently. The battle between Phil and Dean (my brother) was supposedly REALLY good and suspenseful. ...I couldn't see it because I was busy setting up to record the finals.
Obviously my brother won that... and got beat by a different asian in the finals...
Anyway, I uploaded two videos of me and my brother playing SSBM a few months ago to YouTube. You can read more about the tournaments there.
They are here and here.
Neither of those were very good battles, and we've both gotten much better since then too. I've been working a lot on my short-hopping, wavedashing, shield grabbing and edge-hogging since then too... though the latter is not a very hard technique to master.
P.S. Oh, and Phil was also the guy a lost to in the first round of the first tournament, which I talk about in both of my videos. I need to upload some new videos soon... hmm...
