Need an opinion as to a good NES deal.

This doesn't really have anything to do with hacking a NES so I thought I'd post my question in Forum 42. Is $60 CAD a good deal for a NES, controller, Zelda 1 and Zelda 2 both in box, Gold Cart editions?

I'd pay that just for Zelda 1. That game is extremely difficult to find. Especially the special edition in box.

the odd question to ask about zelda games is how easy are gray carts to find when compared to the gold ones? which one is really rare? I say the gray ones.

interestingly I sold a NIB gold zelda on ebay not too terribly long ago. It went okay, but not for as much as I'd hoped. IIRC I threw a post about it in the buy/sell forum here, but I doubt ebay still has the auction on their system.

edit: for the life of me I can't find that thread--must be too far back, but I know it didn't go over $120 usd.

well that settles it, I guess it's a bad deal--borderline terrible depending on the exchange rate that I don't feel like checking out.

maybe it's the french quarter talking, but those games pretty well sucked in the grand scheme of things anyhow. It was really the next generation of zelda that did itfor me. the gameboy/snes generation. not that I've ever managed to care long enough to finish a zelda game.

The grey Zelda is more rare then the Gold one, but the Gold one sells for more than the grey because more people are seeking the gold, as is it was the one they remember and had when they were growing up.

+ CIB gold zelda 1's aren't that much anymore, ~$25

yeah, a CIB shouldn't be more than $25. if you were talking about mine, mine was an NIB which upped things a bit--just not as much as I think it should have.

Heck no! I bought both of those games, gold edition, CIB for $10 each last year at CCAG. $60, even Canadian, is still far too expensive!
