Umm.... I wrote a story that went by that exact plot for school once. I think I have posted it on the internet before too. Something is wrong....

Research archetypes. There's only about 6 stories, and every single story is a slight twist on them.

This was way before vista was even announced though. XP was pretty new, and in the story, the OS was called "Windows SE (supreme edition)"

The idea came from the winning entry, so he came up with it. I simply expanded on the plot and wrote a bunch more dialog.
