powering a nes pc
how do people power thier nes pc's? via DC/DC like a laptop? whats the most space efficient way.. thanks

Its a really small DC/DC converter, sometimes just a board connected to the ATX connector. btw: the board im using isnt a fully micro ITX, but it measures smaller than the nes case
I don't think the laptop charger could handle the amps, the guy in your link used an 80w PSU, which is 5A at 16v (I think most laptop chargers are 16v <4A) or 6.6A at 12v. You probably won't need all of that power, but better safe than sorry.
EDIT: Just checked my laptop's adapter, its rated to 4.5A at 16v, so if you use a similar one, it might work, if the PicoPSU can handle 16v. I'd still just use a desktop's PSU.

Any computer PSU that can output at least 7A on the 12v line should work, you could get an used one for a few bucks.

it would just be sitting outside of the case.. and how exactly would i connect it to the pico psu
