I think the expansion port was for extra add-on carts. But none were made that I know of.

The resolution is triple by the Sony PSOne screen. Are you sure it is the same resolution as PSOne screen? It says 224,460 pixels in the link you provided. Also is the screen led-lit or traditional fluorescent tube?

The horizontal pixel count is tripled because it takes one R, G, and B pixel to make up on color pixel.

Yep same as the Psone, 320x234. It has a traditional backlight.
