up until about 93-94 or so if you were doing high end graphics stuff you were using an Amiga (or to a lesser extent SGI)! macs and PCs of the time just couldn't compare. as a matter of fact Lightwave 3D got its start shipping with the Amiga 2000 Video toasters! even the amiga 500 and 1000s could do 3D rendering!
