PSU, Bang....

OK, in australia, we use 240 volt power points, therefore our computer PSUs must be set to 230-240v. One of my friends at school, thought it would be funny to see what happened when you turn the switch to the 110 mark. I said not to, he did it. There was lots of smoke, sparks and a sound like a gunshot. The computer no longer works in any way, durr.

How much do you think this got to, just the PSU, or the entire mobo and, well, everything...? Would that mean that the mobo got 24v, not 12 like normal? Smelt like burning caps to me.

Opinions. This was one of the best computers in the school btw.. no one know about its condition yet.... help?

probably just the power supply. I think it died long before the motherboard could run into problems. but why bother asking? It doesn't sound much like your problem, it sounds more like vandalism and if I were in your place, I'd make sure I distanced myself from the 'situation' before it got worse.
