Do you have a technical question that doesn't really fit a specific console? Want some general info on electronics, hacking, making cookies, etc? Here's the place to ask! Go nuts.
I'm doing a DS mod, and I don't know how to remove the top screen. I've removed the front cover of the screen, the whole back of the DS upper half, and I don't know how to remove the top LCD screen without damaging it. Any help?
Put in Technical Q+A because there's no DS forum to my knowledge
The Ribbon Cable goes into the Hinge. You need to disconnect it from the motherboard on the bottom half of the DS, and very slowly and carefully pull the ribbon cable out of the hinge.
It's Best to have the whole thing apart even tho your working on the top.
What I mean is - I want the LCD just off the front plate of the top half, I don't have my triwing yet so I'm just repainting the top just now. I've got the ribbon cables disconnected from the speaker board, if it helps.

I don't really understand what you're saying, you have it apart but are waiting for your screwdriver? Are you trying to remove the screen glass itself from the plastic of the case? If thats what you're asking, I personally take the screen cover off (the plastic in front of the screen that you can actually touch) and carefully push the glass out from the front.
Keep in mind that my experience is with GBC's and GBA's, so if something seems like it'll break something, be careful or don't do it.
