It was... pretty good. Not amazing like the other two, but good. They strayed way too far from the comic book plot for me, and even if the uniquely-drafted story would have worked independently, I felt it was bogged down by trying to shove too many villans into one movie just for fan appeal. That, and no sign of Carnage being in Spidey 4!
This just proves to me that Sony messes up everything involving the number three.

I didn't feel like too many villians were crammed in. Nothing like the X-Men movies where you get like five minutes with everyone but Storm the screen-time oinker.
All of the main chars got a really good amount of time in my opinion.

I'm going to go see it this afternoon.
While I don't always sit down and watch movies I like to pop them on in the background while I work on things. That said, Spider-Man 2 I've probably thrown in more than anything in recent years, with the possible exception of Ed Wood.
So I'm a big fan. I don't expect part 3 to be as good as the first 2 but that'd still make it better than most films out there. Here's hoping it doesn't pull a "Batman Forever".
FUN FACT: James Cameron, uber-god director, was going to make Spider-Man for summer 1993 (with Arnold as Doc Ock) but he couldn't get the rights sorted out and eventually it went to Sony instead. The script wasn't bad, though the end was fairly wanky. (Doc Ock's experiment launches a school into the air, fighting occurs, then Spidey and MJ sail down to safety using a giant American flag from the gym)
It was written by Cameron and David Koepp, who also wrote the Raimi versions. This is also where the dreaded "organic webshooters" came from. As much as I love Cameron I'm glad it was delayed til 2002 because technology really did help the movie along.
