i need linux help

right so i just installed linux yesterday and i have no idea what im doing. right now my main priority to get done is run zsnes and a torrent client. could anybody help me with the installation and suggest a torrent client?

What type of linux?

Please use the shift function of whatever os you are using. But not excessivly. Although you seem to have mastered the full stop and question mark,so its not all bad.

Im using fedora core 6. Sorry for not using capital letters and stuff but i dont feel theyre really needed to be understood, yeah i know the height of laziness.

You need to go and download the RPM packages for what you want. When I'm on an RPM distro I go to http://rpm.pbone.net/, it's pretty good as far as listings go and gives you added info about what other packages you might need to install to get the software working. And as for the SNES emulator, check here.

Thanks, but i think my graphics card or whatever the hell is just like not working or installed with linux do you have any idea of an obvious solution?

Well you need to give us more information then you're having a problem with your video card. What's the make and model and is it AGP/PCI/PCI-e. Then we can point you in the direction of a better graphics card driver.

yeah ill open up my pc like tommorrow or something cuz i have no idea, my dad got it premade.

Just keep in mind... first of all, doesn't it take longer to explain yourself then to just hit the shift key? Also, and this is my personal opinion, when you don't use caps it makes it seem like you don't really care about what you write. If you don't care, then why should we?

Ok Ill try that. Yeah spongebuel youve got a good point. And if anyones going to complain about my lack of apostraphe, or however you spell them, Ive got a perfectly legit excuse, im using a european keyboard and i have no idea where like anything is on it. Anyway back to the topic, my comp seems to have just everything built on to the mobo, except for the dial-up modem. Would it help if i gave the model name?

Well i dont think it matters now. It seems my american pc as died on european land. Im pretty sure that the built in transformer just wasnt good enough and as a result my entire comp just doesnt work. sometimes its the harddrive not being recognized and errors occur when i try to install an os and just nothings really working.

so i hope thats all thats needed. so i guess first person to help me out with a video card driver gets a virtual cookie
