HELP! I think my GP32 is bricked.........sob........

Post by Chewieshmoo »

I had a perfect GP32 which I flashed early on with Slubmans excellent firmware. I have been using it for like a year, never a problem. Well I had kind of put it aside since obtaining a PSP and DS but thought to pick it up again and maybe sell or trade it. I put fresh batteries in and turned it on and to my surprise...................nothing! Well not exactly nothing, the red power led lights up and the LCD screen displays a solid white screen but that's it, no sound, nothing else. It's definitely not a battery issue for sure, tried several fresh and fully charged, tried fresh fully new akalines etc but the result is always the same. I don't understand because prior to sticking it in the drawer it worked fine, I even removed the batteries for storage. I popped it open but did not notice anything loose or out of place (that is the extent of my technocal knowledge) So I am pretty pissed/disappointed. I never had a problem before so I don't understand what could of happened?

From what I have gathered online in various forums this appears to be the syptom of a bricked unit but I don't see how that could be as it was working fine for a year and before I put it away. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I can't flash it because al I get is a white bright solid white screen. I heard there is a cable (a dev cable?) some can use to reflash the original BIOS but I don't have one nor would I know where to begin............................

It could just be because of bad build quality and aging with no use...

I know a spider got into my friends Pokemon Blue and ruined it (there were spider Eggs in it)
