Wall Screen, i need help...

Ok, I might be able to get my hands on a few older laptops. I want to make a wall screen out of them. Not really a full wall, but whatever.

I did some searching, did'nt come with a whole bunch of stuff.

Like, a how to, or what i need or anything. well, a couple websites that will do it for you. but i am a diy type guy, i just need a little help...

What exactly are you trying to do again?

Create a single multi-monitor picture. Like in movies, where the bad guy shows up on like 20 monitors, each with a different piece of his face.

As for programs that do it, no clue what or how.

I saw this on Engadget or Digg a while ago. This was there old setup. They are now working on a 50 monitor setup

And how are you going to convert the video source to whatever digital signals the laptop screens need?

You'd probably be better off making an overhead projector screen with one of the laptops.

if you leave the laptop connected to the screen, it would probably be pretty easy to write some network program in vb that gets frames over LAN and displays them.

probably harder to make the frames be anything meaningful.

The reason for this project, other then it being cool, free, a learning experiance, cool, and fun, is that it would be for my work. We are a nonprofit that teach kids how to use computer and computer programs. Like Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop,Premeire, Game Maker, Audio Recording, Videography, Digital Photgraphy, etc. I want to make this and have it displayed to increase the "WOW" factor upon entering a, more or less, undecorated room. I think that having this displaying photo's and video at the same time, along with scheduals and so on will make people want to come and stay. That, and I can learn how to do this, it sounds fun, I can get the laptops for free (from my job).
