I saw a commercial today on "spike tv" or as i like to call it the "star trek station" that the psp is going down to $179, any truth behind it.

I'd assume so... I don't think that anyone would spend good money on running a commercial just to spread some kind of a lie like that ;)

yes I understand that but what i was wondering is where are they 179, bb, wally world, kmart, target, or is it just a overall price drop

They better drop the price to $150 or less and have 1G MS at under $20 before I look at picking one up. My ipod does everything but games (which the PSP is poor at anyway) and has a nice 30GB hard drive.

They should have left the price the same and added 3 or 4GB of flash memory instead of doing a price drop, then it would compete better with other flash players in its category (Nano, V+, Clix, etc.).

they dropped in price a few weeks ago for 169. Atleast that's what they are priced at where i used to work and everyother store that sells them around here.
