Case mod for old Laptop

Ok, I still need help with the hard drive. The one from the laptop doesn't work in my UBS enclosure, and the one from my enclosure doesn't work in the laptop.

Could it be that I need a certain hard drive to work in the laptop? It has all the pins my newer one has...

use a win95 boot disk and launch the files from the HDD

I don't think it'll make a difference, I put a DOS boot floppy in, and it doesn't even try it when the hard drive from my enclosure is plugged in, but then it works when I unplug it. Worth a shot though, I'll go try it.

It still isn't working, I even resorted to hotswapping the hard drives. Is there any difference between the hard drives that would cause this?
