The DS "Rumble" Pak

Post by benol »

Anyone else agree that it kinda sucks? It makes more noise than it makes rumble, and kinda rattles, and in Metroid it only rumbles when you get shot.

My DS Lite's GBA Slot is reserved for an EZ Flash 3 in 1, but for now the Dust cover works.

Actually, the GBC had rumble with Pokemon Pinball and Ready 2 Rumble. The rumble pak doesn't have a lot of games that use it, either:

List of Nintendo DS games supporting the Rumble Pak

* 42 All-Time Classics (aka Clubhouse Games)
* Custom Robo Arena
* Diddy Kong Racing DS
* Elite Beat Agents
* Hotel Dusk: Room 215
* The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning (DS version)
* Actionloop (aka Magnetica)
* Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
* Metroid Prime Pinball (bundled with rumble pak)
* Metroid Prime: Hunters
* Picross DS
* Star Fox Command
* Star Trek: Tactical Assault
* Super Princess Peach

I have an original DS rumble pack. Its kinda cool. Too bad it sticks out of the lite, or i'd live it in instead of the dust cover.

Two games? Lol.

Wasn't it built in to the game cartridges?

"http://sky2k.com/shop/ewin-nds-lite-rum ... p-261.html"

DS Lite rumble pack, 3rd party, $6

No, I'm not advertising for them, but I figured it would help some people out.

If a mod has to take down the link, then just go to sky2k.com, search 'ewin lite rumble'.
"The Nintendo stradegy will work everywhere except in America where most people dont give things a chance."

Time may prove the quoter wrong. =)

or make your own, I've open them before and all it is, is a tiny rumble motor attached to each pin on each extreme side (Pin all the way on the left and the Pin all the way on the right)

You can Probably replace that pitiful motor with a Motor from a GC controller or somthing.

May be bulky, but it will be more worth is than wasting your Battery power on a annoying noise.

the cybiko systems featured rumble pretty heavily, and it would surprise me if N-gage didn't use rumble--though looking at the back of a couple games I have around, they make no mention of it in the usual features section.

I hear there's a 3rd party DS rumbler that's a lot stronger and quieter in terms of rumble force, but also about half the price. I think gbatemp had a review of it.

I was going to buy a $30 on ebay, thanks. I want one of these to replace my empty dust protector cart.

I don't want to make an "I'm leaving" thread, but I've sort of lost interest in this board. So if you notice that I'm gone, that's why.

I have all of those games that use rumble...but i only play about 80% of them :wink:

Thanks to my R4 and 2.5 GB worth of microSD cards :D

PS: Does anyone know how to remove the spring from an R4? I don't want to worry about it breaking down the road...
