Nine inch Nails virginia tech mix up!

If any of you have called the number 1-216-333-1810 and got through to the
recording (took me about 50 tries) it is not real.

It came out months before the shootings at Virginia Tech and was part of an advertising campaign by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails for their new cd Year Zero.

It spread like a virus today on campus at my school. I am trying to protect one of my favorite artist (Reznor) from bad press.

IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SHOOTINGS!

bad timing for NIN though.

Some body started spreading it as recording of some one on the phone during the virginia tech incident.
It took my school by storm. so many people were calling it that it was hard to get through.

I think the real news is "NIN--Still Alive"

I like NIN.

I'm sure it'll be on Paula Zahn or some variation thereof by the end of the week. The media always needs their scapegoat at a time like this, or else people may start to notice the increasing media coverage of violent crimes in places where the rates of violent crimes are dropping, and then come to realize that overblown real-life violence is far more likely to push some nut over the edge than Bruce Willis shooting some computer generated guy's balls off.

I wouldn't count on it, though.

P. S. - Speaking of Marilyn Manson, he's got a new album coming out soon too.
