THATS IT!!!

I have been on this site for too long, and havent made anything!
Well it's about time i started. So im thinking of making a portable, and i'm wondering what i should do.
I have a N64, a psone (the massive one) and a wii (dont think about it... maybe a mod).
soo... what should I do? ( I could also do a mod, but i would prefer a worthwhile thing.)

Buy a SNES and stick with it. Then portablize it.

Nothing you have is good for a first portable, you would AT LEAST need 2 N64s to make a n64p.

I suggest buying a Radica or a PLUG N PLAY, buy a screen, and convert it to batteries.

Radica is only easy if you don't do the cartridge slot. However if you can't change out games it's really kind of limited.

I would suggest either an SNES or an NOAC NES. Both are very easy to get to run off batteries, require little change or modding. Fair warning that if you go with the NOAC NES, you could be drawn into a lot of soldering if you choose to solder an adapter in instead of just leave it as a plug-in adapter.

I have an idea....Start simple. like a Plug and Play console that you can get for $20 at wally world.

Haha, whats sad is that its the truth, there has never been any time with two active girls at the same time that I know of.

I checked out a PSphat to see if it was worthy of portablization, and it looks really easy. The 8v line works with a normal 7.2v or 8.4v battery, and the same DC-DC convertor used for getting 3.3v for N64s feeds the 3.6v line perfectly. And it has plenty of room for guts and stuff and doesn't fry easily. go for it.

I read somewhere (on the forums) that your first should be your favourite console, that way you have more modivation to finish.

That's a matter of option really. Some people see the work going into a Neo Geo as totally worth it, and the thing is more expensive to build and just get the system and games. Really think of a system that you gamed a lot on, be it the NES, SMS, Genesis, SNES, Playstation, ect. If there are game you love playing on it, that is the system you'd likely get the most out of by portablizing it.

If your pick consists of the Atari 2600, NES, SNES or the Playstation, I would suggest spending the money in buying Ben's book. He overs all four of those and offers two different case styles for them (CNC or hand-made). IT's an investment of something like $30-40 and it's a walk-through on how to do everything, very clear to understand.

I dunno how many posts I have but I have done nothing. I dont plan on doing much either, maybe someday.

Bad news is my favourite portable is... The N64. Well i do have one, and there everywhere in australia. Plus games are easy to find, but i know you will all say don't do it, but it may be a good experience. Besides it's good to start off hard right (guitar hero post!).

So what do ya think, N64 or not.
