Ok what if someone killed your parents and then the next day someone pointed at you and said laughing "HAHA your an orphan now!". Would you be so insensitive about death then? I know people that attend VT and thankfully none of them where killed in the shootings.

I don't Understand how people can be so blind and disrespectful to other people. THAT is what is wrong with our world.

And who said anyone was? We're simply just saying we don't care!

Look, I agree totally with Rekarp,

Killing somone else is probably the worst thig you can do, there is no reason in the world to, no excuses. The main reason for things like these shootings, is the avalability of weapons in the US. Here in australia, nealry noone has a gun, none ver gets shot by random people. There is the need for guns with police and such, but not civilians.

Wars are the same, people make a big fuss about one person dying, were as in various wars that are going on, hundreds of people are dieing each day, and for no reason, noone really cares. War is an expensive thing, both in money, and peoples lives. Think of how soomnes family would feel is one of them, say their dad was sent to a war, and got killed for some really stupid reason. Say it was your dad, how would you feel then, would you say, meh, it's ok then? Would you stand over his dead body, and just say, ok this is right? Would you tell me, lets shoot you dad, and see how you feel about it.

Guns are worthless, the lives they take are more valuable then anything. Would you live with yourself, if you killed somone defenceless, with there back turned, and unarmed?

Sad.

ADITION:
@ atari2600a: if it were one of your classmates that got shot, and you were standing right next to them, and you survived, would you care then? Say I just grabbed you mum, and shot her in font of you, would you care?

That is what you need to do, put yourself in anothers shoes, and think how they must feel. You evedantly, have no care for anyone else, and noone will ever care for you. Have a nice life.

Jay. Wrong video. Atari2600a was laughing at the speech written and read by the killer, not the killings.

Rekarp. Read my post once more and this time with your eyes open:
Death by natural causes is the way life works, death at the hands of another is murder. That being said, I agree with atari2600a about not getting worked up on the matter. People have voiced their opinions, and so have atari2600a and I. We are not devils condoning the rampant murder of innocent people. We don't point and laugh when we see a person dieing. We don't feel glee when we read or see about shootings.

I felt some concern over the shootings, then I moved on with my life. If I grieved, would it bring those killed back to life? If I allowed the news to keep me awake at night, would that save those who are already dead? I think not. The world is tough, and cruel, and bad things happen. Deal with it. I have nothing else to say on the subject.

You clearly don't understand. Just because someone owns a gun, that doesn't mean that they'll go on a rampage and kill 30 people. There are about 10 rifles, 1 shotgun, and 3 handguns in my house. We have never used them to shoot another human, and my younger siblings and me when I was younger, were taught that even pointing toy guns at each other was bad. I know that I couldn't even shoot an innocent human, yet alone live with myself. Our guns are used for target shooting and hunting. The only reason any of them would be used to harm another human is if he/she was trying to harm someone else in a life-threatening way.

Well, I'm sure that if you took the time to look it up, you'd find at least SOME gun-related crimes in your country. I must reiterate the fact that people who want to do damage to others will always find a way to get weapons, be it illegally or legally. And when they have those weapons, they're going to cause harm to people. Do you think, however, that the idiots willing to hurt innocent civilians would still do so if they knew that the building they were going to rob that afternoon had a roomful of armed people? Didn't think so.

And for those who are against teraflop and atari, I can't agree or disagree; we need people in this world who care about victims. Some need to be emotional to make a difference, but we also need desensitized people to analyze the situation with a cool, uninfluenced air. It's a double-edge sword.

If they were threatening the safety of innocent people in any way whatsoever? Sure, and I wouldn't lose a wink of sleep over it.

Almost everyone is born with weapons, they're called hands and feet. With enough skill, they can easily kill. And for those without skill, theres sticks.

I also live in a country without public firearms

You may have lots of guns and thats fine, the majority of people who own guns wont use them. But its the minority that do is the problem.

Many people argue that having guns means people can protect themselves, this only works if everyone has a gun and thats not as safe as no one having a gun.

Im not saying gun crime doesnt happen over here but gun related violence is rarely seen and large scale shootings like this are seen even less.

Obviously there is still murder and violent crime but the chances of surviving a stabbing are still higher than a shooting.

As for the protection argument there is any number of non lethal defenses that you can have that will immoblise attackers without killing them. Not even the police in this country have guns and of that im very glad.

That's a ridiculously immature and dangerous belief. No matter what, criminals will get guns, just like alchoholics got alchohol no problem during prohibition. And not "everyone" has to have a gun; you only need one courageous armed person to eliminate a criminal threat.

Your second point is moot as well. As a martial artist, I know all about self-defense, and it's just silly to think that you could immobilize an oncoming attacker with a gun. That would be a suicide mission. And if the only way to completely put yourself and other innocent people out of harm is to kill an attacker. there's absolutely no problem with that, it's 100% justified.

No offense, but do you actually have medical evidence to back that up? I mean people have been killing people with pointy objects for far longer than they have been killing them with modern firearms....

I agree. Even if your attacker only has a knife, you can't really stop them without a gun unless you have training, are extremely lucky, or have a bigger knife or blunt object. You just can't. They'll either be sprinting towards you or hide and wait for you, even a gun isn't a super weapon against that unless you have inhuman reflexes, but as soon as its out, they'll think twice before coming near you, because even if you get stabbed, you can still shoot them as they run away (provided you're alive and conscious).
As soon as I'm old enough, I'll get a concealed weapons permit. I won't carry a gun everywhere I go, thats just a hassle in a safe area. But I will have one in my car at almost all times. Until I'm 21, a machete or bat will have to do. Its not for what I'll do to other people, it'll be to stop others from doing it to other people.

I didn't say you had to grieve. But being disrespectful and laughing to those that lost there lives is not cool in my book.

On the subject of guns, I am from Texas so I will let that stereotype define myself.
