Getting into DS homebrew

Post by khaag »

I'm probably gonna recieve a lot of flak for not searching the forums adequetly, but I'm kinda lazy, so I'm gonna start a new thread. Maybe since this is asked a lot, someone could make a DS homebrew info sticky. But anyway, onto my question.

What is the best device to get for running homebrew on the DS without having to flash it or anything. I've been looking at some things on google, but I can't seem to find the right thing. Any ideas? I want something that can run homebrew, and some emulators.

I'm looking at this one: http://www.r4ds.com/product-en.htm

Any reviews? I've read some good things, but I want to get some more opionions.

Also, does anybody know where I can get a decent cheap 1-2 GB microSD card?

I don't want to make an "I'm leaving" thread, but I've sort of lost interest in this board. So if you notice that I'm gone, that's why.

I have the EZ-Flash 5. It's not bad, and for 50 bucks for a slot 1 device, it's not bad.

Does anyone know how to get SNEmulDS to work? It says to put roms in the SNES folder on the root of the card, and I did, and it says there are no roms.

I think i'm gonna get that R4DS one. It's slot-1, and comes with a 1 gb microSD card.

Well I settled with the R4DS. Bought it today. $44.95 for a slot-1 device and a 1 gig microSD card was too good a deal to pass up.

The R4DS is great!!! I got mine yesterday in the mail I got it for 49 bucks with 2 day shipping + 1 GB MicroSD card!

You will be happy. In one day it's got at least 10 hours use already (Well 9:30 of that is from Pokemon Pearl)

Did you order from DealExtreme?

Yeah, I ordered from DealExtreme. Actually, my computer teacher ordered 2, one for him and one for myself. He is just taking the $44.95 it cost for mine off the remaining balance he is paying me for the MAME cabinet I built for him.

EDIT: Oh my goodness. 666 posts. I'm toast for sure! If I don't post here tomorrow, I'm probably dead...
