Well those Fat Numbers I would have to say are only that big because they go by the BMI if I am not mistaken, and perfectly normal looking people say they are obese cause of the damned BMI which doesnt take into consideration Muscle is heavier than fat.

And being wasteful, how is eating fast food wasteful? and Don't tell me Canada does'nt eat as much fast food as America, and comparing statistics won't help, because if you can see, we have a way bigger population than Canada, and drving huge ass cars? You must be looking to far west with people in Califormia and having huge Hummer2s and Cadillac Escalades, as far as I can tell here in the east, they are ?ACCUALLY cutting down the size of SUVs, I hardly see anyone drive SUV anymore, and have ya ever heard of Hybrid SUVs, yeah we are getting more and more of those.

i dont really care what other countries think of us(the USA). we all have our opinions on each other and yes most of us are fat/obese (i am only 152 pounds and its muscle )
to say americans are stupid, Ben here is also from wisconsin like me and ohh he is american and he is capable of building increadible portables. Most of the people who have made good portables and hacks are from the united states(but hey anyone can be creative)

the pope is catholic most americans are a branch off of the protestant faith, not catholic. on average we DO eat more fast food and not just because there are more of us, i live near a town of less than 25 thousand people and in that town there are THREE mcdonolds an arbies a BK a long john silvers a maid rite a subway and probably 2 or 3 other fast food joints that i cant think of right now. tell me that aint overkill! by huge ass cars im talking average size 4 door cars with V8s and SUVs of all shapes and sizes, hybreds are just as bad for the environment (can you say hundred and thousands of pounds of dead NiMh batteries in a decade or so?) the funny thing is a toyota prius usually gets around 45-55mpg on average SO DOES A GEO METRO! and metros cost a few thousand at most vs SIXTY GRAND for a prius.

Oh and Canada, you wouln't be here without the United states, plain and simple.

Around my area (MA) here's what I see a lot of:

- Big square houses in a "neighborhood" full of nearly identical big square houses. (And yes, like someone else said, they look like they scattered houses on a golf course. They rip out all the trees and put twigs in their places.)

- SUVs. Not so much the H2s and Escalades anymore, but there are still a lot of "crossover" and "compact" SUVs around. (<b>MINIVANS and STATION WAGONS</b>. "SUV" means "truck". I don't call anything a truck when it's built off a damn unibody.) There are quite a few of those P.O.S. Ford Freestyles around, some hybrid, some not, all can carry less weight than our Accord.

- Cell phones that do everything but make julienne fries. ("Oh holy crap I can TALK to people on this thing!")

- McDonald's. Lots of McDonald's. I pass 4 or 5 on my 30 mile commute. (Granted I don't live in NYC, where one out of every 3 resteraunts is a McDonald's...)

- People with a LOT of coffee. We have Dunkin' Donuts and a more local chain called Honey Dew, so there's always somewhere to get good coffee. That is, I hardly see anyone with a Starbucks cup. (Starbucks has crap coffee, yet you apparently have to have an art history major to sell it.)

- Fat. Not just "oh my BMI is over the norm taht means I'm faaaaat :'(", I mean "can't fit through a hula hoop" fat. Noticeably fat.

- Lazy. Will possibly drive their SUV to the end of their driveway to fatch the mail.

- Puts out tons of garbage.

- Does everything but watch the road while driving.

- Drives recklessly, runs lights, speeds, and tailgates.

- Into at least one major sport. Football (with the funny-shaped ball, not the round black and white ball) is the most common choice since we're so close to Gillete Stadium. Other options include baseball, Nextel Cup racing (no truck series, busch series, or pansy Indy racing), and in rare instances Soccer. (Americans in general don't really care about Soccer, er I mean "foot-ball", unless they're driving their kids to and from practice in their SUVs or minivans.

- Goes to Disney World or another comperable tourist attraction at least once a year

I wasnt meaing founded by us, I friggin' knew that, but what if we were Iraq or some other terrorist nation, trust me, they wouldnt exist, or if nothing was below them, who would protect them, surely not there hardly noticable Military.

Ok Somone just go ahead and lock this, as people are just going to argue, and I am going to argue back, and then it will get political which we don't want.

I've been to America and Canada, and I must say I much prefer Canada. Especially compared to England. Over here, you're lucky to get a smile from anyone. People were so much more friendly and hospitable over there. The skiing's pretty awesome too I also like the way that, in one town, pretty much every house is completely different. That may only apply to where I went though
Only one thing I didn't like. Canadian TV and Canadians in general struck me as being a little too patriotic, if that's possible.
