Do the iPod Shuffle!

Post by benheck »

Hey, any of you see that new iPod shuffle thing? A friend of mine has one (the gig model) and it's the BEE'S KNEES! (old-school term for good)

It plugs right into your USB slot which loads songs AND charges it! So it's also a 1 gig USB thumb drive. Holds like 300 songs, and it's insanley small. Despite that, the volume is LOUD and has better freq. response than I would have imagined.

To quote that hobbit from LOTR: "I'm getting one!" Well, in spring when I have more opportuinity to go outside (and they're actually OBTAINABLE)

Sorta pointless when you cant choose the order in which the songs are played, as in random.

yes cause when its on it runs form flash memory forabout 3 songs when those songs are over the drive spins to load another three songs. If dropped when loading it scratches ortherwise its fine. But I intend to run jump skate board etc with my player thats why the shuffles for me and I'm *gasp* going to the apple store this week to blow $149 on the 1 gig model.

might as well put it here.
IS there any way to use the shuffle under linux without using wine?
Is it just viewed as a flash drive?

As they've mentioned it it can double as a USB thumb drive I'm guessing that the mpg/AAC decoder is serperate and just reads the files as they are.

Isn't that the thought that started this whole website? :D

I'm sure the iPod Shuffle would be a lot better if it had a PSOne screen attached to it :D
