Yeah, my roommate's parents just found out that he got a girlfriend. Their reaction was laughter :P

Seriously, don't worry too much about what happens with the females in high school. Sure, talk to them and befriend them and all that fun stuff, but don't get picky about the type for long-term relationships beyond friends. That's where college comes in. Back in high school, I only had a few female acquaintances, not really any friends. Now I have a bunch of female friends, and there are only going to be more.

I have submitted to the fact that I won't find a nerdy girl that is my type (i.e., doesn't wear only black, or looks like her 2 yr old brother put her eyeliner on). It doesn't really matter to me, its not like I even talk to guys about this stuff, everyone is too stupid to understand (ok, so a couple of my friends do understand, but thats about it).

3 Steps on how to be a ladies' man AND a nerd/geek/dork/intelligent person (Whatever you wish to call it).

1. Join Theater/Dance
2. Enjoy the ladies
3. There is no step 3. And step 2 isn't really a step.

It is funny how theater guys are stereotypically homosexual when there are SO MANY girls in theater. I have like a posse (funny word!) of women falling at my nerdy feet because I can sing well. And even the guys who can't perform for crap get the ladies.

Ok this is how you get friends and friends that aren't geeks.

1) Don't act overly geeky

2) If and when you acted geeky use it in a good way (I was at my gf's house to fix her compy. Her dad was IMPRESSED lol)

3)Make stuff for people in your school/friends (I made a few controller belt buckles for people)

4)If all else fails... BE YOURSELF!!!

You might not want a geek girlfriend. Opposites attract. Although it would be nice to get a gamer girlfriend.

I've had a few girlfriends, although despite visting this forum, I don't look like a stereotypical nerd, I don't act geeky around people at school, and my main intrests in conversation doesn't end up me talking to people about LAN parties. All my friends that are female (not girlfriends) find me funny, now only if they found me attractive =(

I don't think finding a geeky girlfriend is a really good idea.

A better idea would be to find a girl you actually like, and impress her with your geekiness. (Hey, sometimes it works!) I feel really awkward around geeky girls... I'm not sure why. I just... am. Maybe it's because you can't really impress them.

"I camped out 9 hours for a Wii!"
"So did I."
"Oh."

Or:

"Oh man, I beat Twilight Princess last night! You know what Twilight Princess is, right?"
"Yeah, and I beat it two weeks ago."
"Ah."

It can be a little weird.

(Although finding a girl in my school who beat Twilight Princess would be awesome!!!)

you can ask in this forum because
a) not all of us are geeks
and
b) geeks get girlfriends too (it happens sometimes  )

Keep Geek talk to a minimum, unless you know the girls wont be weirded out by it. Engage in conversation based on things that she'll be interested in. Be confidant and funny, clowns and jokers make enjoyable friends.

Here's my response, from my experience.

1) How do I find a female geek to befriend?
- You don't. You find someone you like and MOLD them into a geek.

1.5) How do I get her attention and get her talking to me?
- Talk to HER. Do something amusing or the likes.

2) How do I keep her my friend?
- Keep doing what you're doing.
Hey, sup?

And just to set things straight, a girl or girlfriend isn't anything of ownership like the thread title implies. You own a relationship, perhaps, but everything <s>is</s> should be equal. :P

Just meet girls. No, in fact: just meet people! By meeting new people you meet new girls and new connections! It's great, the whole "friends" idea. :)
