Battery?

Post by Kurt_ »

I don't know what's wrong. One of my Lipo's is at 2.8V, and the protection circuit kicked in. However, the smart charger will not recognize that the batteries need charging. The other battery is at 3.8. The charger is designed to stop charging around 4-4.2V.

Any suggestions?

It's possible it's as simple as a loose connection. The smart charger goes green when there's no connection. I will check that tomorrow. All the other wires are hooked up right and secure. Come to think of it, one of the 1/8 jack contacts was loose. I may replace it if that turns out to be the problem.
My setup is as follows, and is tested to be in working order:

Smart Charger ==> Headphone jack ===> Headphone jack hole ===> Power contacts on Protection circuit ===> Protection circuit with optional gauge (reading a low voltage) ===> Battery contacts on PCB (Ground, 1 cell 3.7V , and 7.2V 2 cell contacts)

Well, typing this out really helped. The Jack WAS the problem. Thanks me!

SNESp to come very soon, assuming the low 2.8V didn't destroy the battery. The Protection circuit kicked in, so it SHOULD be fine. I'll never let it go that low again! The thing is, 3/5 LED's indicated the voltage of 2 cells combined, with unequal drain, apparently. Hmm...
Hey, sup?
