Well, good thing your folks got that warranty... If you're able to replace the Wii using the warranty, wouldn't that prove to your folks that you haven't ruined it in any way? Can't you just say, "No, look - it's right here, safe and sound!"

I'm rooting for you because it's a cool project and you've gotten this far.

Oh well, if worse comes to worse, you've gotta respect your parents' wishes even if you disagree with them. In the grand scheme of things it's really not that big a deal, but dang it would be nice to see you finish it.
