Decisions, decisions... (new pet rodent! :D )

You know what make good dorm-room pets? Triops. You know, Sea Monkeys? Add water and package contents to a bowl. Triops grow and swim around. In a couple weeks allow the water to evaporate. Add water again two weeks later, and the cycle repeats...indefinitely

Every cycle they will grow, do the dirty deed, and lay eggs which will rest dormant when the bowl is dry.

(Sorry for the sad story, so don't let it influence your decision)
I had a rat. She was really lazy though. Sadly, after about 2 years, She started getting tumors and was have a hard time walking, like lower half was paralyzed. So I had to bring her to a vet and then had to do what was right...

rats have huge health problems. they are super smart though. rabbits make great pets, the larger ones can be house broken and use a litter box. for me its either a rabbit or rats...

get a frog, they go in water and land!

edit: dont get a guinea pig they die too easy i used to have two one sorta deflated and the other got eaten by my dog

Rats are freaken kewl! Back when i was in school (6th grade), we bred an ARMY of rats! Albeit, their sole purpose was to be food for the giant Boa

But, they were just the coolest critters! You can feed them just about ANYTHING! --we always fed them with a couple milk cartons full of leftovers from lunch!

Well, you put a boy rat and a girl rat together and, if the time is right, they do their special dance.

What's the benefit of a chinchilla over a hamster,

Chinchillas are hypoallergenic, for one.
For two, they're hundreds of dollars, but live for EVER.

I may have that site I made in grade 8 about them still. It gives you seisures and all the information was plagiarized, but all the information was plagiarized so it's not a 12 year old's opinion.

at 13 i couldnt do anything like that =(

they do make cool pets but the dust can be a problem for some people and that they are more expensive (as he has a budget).

my mommy says I can get a hampster when kitty dies. kitty is 20 years old and pees all over. she meows really loud and wakes me up at night.
