Anyone have any spare sony PS1 LCD boards?

I've been trying to get the ps1 screens to run off 12v but i belive that i have ended up frying my 2 boards that i have, that i bought to use in a car video project i have in mind. What i was wondering is if anyone might have some spare boards that you would want to sell, i don't need the lcd since those are still good. I tried replacing the 7805 i thought i blew with a new one but that didn't prove to work, i think since i don't have a cold solder iron i'm burning up the chip before its even soldered in. So i'm going to go another route, which is basicly to hack up the sony ps1 car adapter and use that to change the 12v from the car to the 7.5 the screen takes.

So if anyone does have any spare sony ps1 lcd screens that you are willing to sell or any insight on what else i might have fried that i might be able to fix on these boards that would be great.

Wasnt there some thing about jumping a fuse to bring these things back to life?

You probably roasted some of the other components on the board, not the 7805. You need to go into the board with 7.5V. Not 12V, not 5V. Use an LM317AT and build the circuit to get it to 7.5V. With proper heatsinking it will work, taking 12V down to 7.5V. It does get HOT as you're releasing 4.5W or so on a 12V, 1 amp input.
