Guitar hero pedal.

Ok heres my theory on how it works. it's just a switch. and it connects two wires as seen in this picture

it could also be that theres a variable resistor in there. and these wires connect trough that.
Based on this info I think someobody could make their own pedals out of a switch or pot. And an old phone cabe.

Anyone up for it?

Well, a real guitarist knows that a real effects pedal changes the sound of the guitar. Examples would be distortion, delay, reverb, and wah-wah (like on Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix). So, knowing this, the effects pedal probably would give you points when you use it, or let you unlock new stuff or something. I've never played Guitar Hero though (but I really want too).

I don't think guitar hero handles actual sounds, so what the hell is this for?

The pedal actually is mentioned in the manual. But that aside. It's kinda like the whammy bar I guess. Just changes te sound a bit for more bonus!

Well try this, do the same each time, but increase the resistance accross the two pads, and see what happens!

oh so the pedal is to take place of 2 things

1) it will emulate the appearance of a digitech wh-1 whammy which actually bends the pitches to the user's liking like a trem bar (electronically of course)

2) it will finally get rid of those incredibly cheap bars on the actual guitar controllers, those were cheaper than a 2 cent haricut on half-priced wednesday

actually I think it won't replace the whammy jsut be something like it. (maybe for single notes) a lot of whammy's were defective not cheap. YOu can repear this yourself with a little mod. (or put a rubber band between the tab thing for that band around your neck and the whammy. )
