Demo Derby

Post by sameguy »

Hey so I am involved with a demo derby that is taking place in the summer and I was just wondering if you guys would like to the progress of the vehicle we are transforming. Any feedback or suggestions would also be nice. If you want I could also post pictures later on as well. Now I know this has nothing to do with any consoles or games, I just thought it was interesting and figured you guys would be interested

i didnt think there was much that went in to demoing a car, installing a roll cage and gutting the interior and puttin in a fuel cell beyond that i cant think of anything other than spraypainting a number on it lol

Awesome! I've always wanted to participate in a demolition derby.
What kind of car are you using? And what are the rules for the derby?
I can never understand why there isn't more of a following for demo derbies, they own NASCAR ("lets drive in a circle in cars that are exactly the same and call it a race") :P .

Well the rules are that the engine has to same make as the vehicle we have entered in the derby. we have chosen is this 1975 GM station wagon . that has defiantly seen better days. But being the grease monkeys me and my friends are we plan to re work the whole thing over and give this thing a new flashy coat of paint . I wanted to incorporate something to do with benheck into that paint as well . once again I shall post pictures further down the road, my dream is to later get video of it being all smashed up on you tube later as well. Anyways. any idea on what the paint scheme could be and if any of you have ideas on what could give us an edge, please tell,

rules are
- same make of engine in vehicle no mix and matches
-no re-enforced frame
-roll cage has to pass initial inspection
-radiator has to be relocated to the back of the vehicle
-any object that are loose or that may become loose must be removed from vehicle
-battery and fuel tank mush be shielded
