ATI Radeon X1600

Anyone have this card? Can you give me some proformance ratings of it? How bout some fps readings?

For say, half life, halo, oblivion?

I've got it.. It's pretty good. No problem rendering anything, fast rendering Gamecube and PS2 games on emulators.

I get 18fps on Gamecube and 52fps on PS2 (custom graphics driver though).

512MB DDR2 RAM, 400Mhz DAC.

I've managed to utilise the input and output specifically for my card

Of course, my PC helps too, It's 2GB RAM, Core 2 Duo 6400 @ 2.13ghz (2 CPUs).

There are definitely better cards out there, but this is certainly worth its weight in gold.

I got it, and just as Hatrix says, I've had no problems rendering it. Hell, even my X800 on the other computer runs great.

I have been gathering money to buy a iMac for quite some time, now is getting near (1900 out of 2200AU), I get a massive discount on macs since both my perrents work at a UNI.

Its all good i guess. Any other things I can benchmark it on? I havn't ever been able to run either of those emus..

Well, when playing Half-Life two, I got awesome performance. But when playing Doom, things were noticeably slow (due to ATI/Nvidia support for the game probably).

Come to think of it, it seems like my X800 actually runs better than my X1600 with Doom 3 and other games due to support...

The 1900 out of 2200AU was how much I had, out of how much the iMac was, after discount.

DO NOT GET ATI THEY ARE THEY SUX!!

Nvidia is better in all ways possible and that will ever be! Get a 8800 or a 7900 or something they are way better than anything ATI got!

$2200 AUD (Australian Dollars), not USD. In US Dollars that's only 1,796.14, a fair price if that's a well-equipped model.

I had an Asus S96J laptop with a Radeon X1600.

Oblivion worked relatively well with most of the visual goodies active, like HDR and distant landscape/trees/buildings, at native 1280 x 800 resolution. Framerates sometimes dropped into the 20's in outdoor scenes. Note that you can do a lot of tweaking in the game's configuration file to improve things like multithreading and prechaching, reducing shadow size helps a great deal while still looking good, and etc.

Half-Life 2 runs perfectly at native resolution and high settings. It just seems to be one of the less demanding games.

Black and White 2 seemed to sit at 20-30 fps regardless of onscreen activity, at native resolution and high settings.

Games like Everquest 2 worked well enough on Balanced or High Quality (for the love of god make sure shadows are turned off).

i have an AGP HIS higtech radeon x1600pro iceq 512mb and i love it, it works fantastic on all the games i play (fear farcry hl2 hl2:ep1 etc) on hedium to high settings, would be better if i had a faster cpu etc probably but i am perfectly happy with it and i only paid about 140$ for it, has a massive heatsink and fan on it and its very quite and helps keep my pc cool as well lol
