Radica Stereo Mod Modification

I was reading the stereo mod and would like to give a wack at amplifhing each channel individually and then mixing them to see if that helps. Can someone give me a diagram and their thoughts if that would really help the sound?

Also could you explain what the squiggly line is on the diagram? I don't know what componet that is. And also list al of the Resistors ohms. And one more thing what aris a C10 and a C28 -||- ?

That squiggly line is an inductor of 13.8mH, and C10 and C28 are ceramic (non-polar) capacitors.

Okay I think I figured out why you only get "reasonable" stereo sound.

If you look on the original one you'll notice that both stereo channels go through two op-amps.

But then when you look on the mod each channel goes through only one op-amp.

I think the reason they did this was so that you wouldn't have to build a whole other circuit on a pcb or something. When you do the mod that way all you have to do is replace a couple componets scratch a couple lines, etc. Thus you get "reasonable" stereo sound.

Now... in my idea I'm going to scratch the line between R26 and R25 just like in the mod... but then it will start to change. I'm going to build another sound circuit just like the orgiginal. That way on the Radica we'll get Audio L and on my PCB board I'll get Audio R.

I think that way I'll have "perfect" Stereo sound... or atleast however perfect the Radica can emulate it or whatever.

What do you guys think about that?

Now I have a couple questions before I start. I think I know what most of the componets are but I would like you guys to fill in the blanks or correct me. Don't tell me to do it myself because I got to waite a week before I get a Radica anyways.

Here's my list

LM358 = a dual op-amp that takes low voltages
R12 = ?
R13 = ?
R16 = ?
R20 = ?
R23 = 47K

C10 = 2.25 nF or whatever
C28 = 668.4pF or whatever
CE5 = 10 uF

L3 = 13 mH

Could someone give me part numbers for the "non-Radioshack" parts from mouser?
