no you don't understand the homemade stuff has to go in waaaaaay deeper to stay and it leaves major scarage, it will fade over time but we are talking years here, not days or weeks, as a piece of tattood white trash take my advice,
1. settle on something you can live with FOREVER nothing sucks worse than having a really crappy tattoo except having a really crappy cover-up of a really crappy tattoo
2. find a PRO ARTIST and look at the work they have done, go find people who have gotten tats from that artist and look at the work, don't trust a picture
3. SPEND THE MONEY to get a really good job done, don't just go with a cheap artist because he's cheap
4. take care of the tat THE RIGHT WAY nothing will ruin a tat quicker than improper care, and if your artist is any good he will tell you the right way to care for it
5. DON'T DO IT DRUNK or stoned or whatever doing it sober makes the skin take it better
6. most important rule here ENJOY IT believe it or not the pain may hurt but it is also a rush and when its done you have a piece of art that can never be taken away from you,
well aside from that the only piece of advice i can give is not to get anyone's name tattooed on you (unless its your mother or child's name) you WILL end up regretting it
