Thanks for the compliments guys.

Like I said, I knew it had been done before, but it seemed like a very cool project and a very cool thing to own, so I went for it.

This has only served to whet my appetite for more electronics projects, so I may very well pick up my NOAC project again.

Good work! I assume you only emulate the Roms you actually own, or do home brew on this system. I thought the decorative edge on the DVD drive was a very nice touch.

That's a fair question. The short answer is no.

The long answer is that just because I no longer possess the carts that I originally bought back in the 80s, does not mean that I feel I should have to buy the same cart again in order to be able to play the ROMs.

I play these games purely for nostalgia's sake. I only have ROMs of the few games that I loved as a kid. The games I used to own.

Does that make sense? Over the years I bought Guns N Roses' Apetite for Destruction on tape, then on CD, then replaced the CD when I lost the CD.

20 years later I no longer possess a copy of Apetite. If I want to hear it I have no qualms whatsoever about downloading a copy.

More like long-winded answer. lol.

One of these tiny little guys on the inside.

One of these guys on the outside.

That keeps a lot of heat outside the case, and of course leaves a good amount of room inside the case for things that need to be in there.

ahh, ok. how much did that setup cost you for the pico psu and such

EDIT: i see there are only around three ports on the little doohickie.. how do you power the CDdrive, etc..
