PSP Casemod

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

PSP Casemod

Post by Thox »

Well,

Im new to this forum, Im a fan of bens work, I would consider buying a Wii Laptop or an Xbox 360 laptop, I have started work on a project, I want to make the PSP Smaller, Sounds crazy, Some people said ' Its not possible... '

I found that some of the room in the PSP is empty space, Considering, I bought a PSP a few days back, And just carved it to peices to see what i can do, And now its all in the bin, besides the buttons, screen, motherboard and case. the rest i threw away.

However, Im thinking of a new design, Possible making the PSP case a total re-design, Ive got something of an idea that say " Im a psp not a brick " I like the Idea of the PSP being portable, but the fact its huge...

Im hoping to minimize it to what its stengths should be, My idea is, To have just the PSP, Without the buttons, on the sides...
Your thinking ' how are you supposed to play it? ' this is where the technological stuff comes in, I want to be able to make the keypads L and R detachable.

I have a concept picture here, But this would prevent :

Theft and so on

and so the buttons just like, Clip on, or something, just to make my PSP a little smaller.

Let me know what you think.

So why make it smaller if its useless when smaller? It'll be at least the same size with the sides attached, seems kinda in the wrong direction. Thickness is about the only way I see you being able to slim it without a total remake of the case, take out the UMD drive and smooth everything else down. Or if you do have the sides removable, have it so that you can still control music or videos.

I thought about that first of all...

the UMD drive i want to keep though, I have about 20 UMD games and about the same in Videos.

I am going to try and see if there is a way to make it possibly smaller.

ill get back to this later, Im going to make a phone call to somone who might know.

Thanks for the welcome btw!

To make it smaller you have to cut off most of the board, making it non-working.. You have to cut off the power jack, the battery compartment, half of the motherboard, all of the switches.... You'll end up ruining a PSP for nothing.
