Gamecube Internet

This may of been discussed before on here, but there is a trick to get the gamecube to play on the internet i heard from someone else, by connecting it in some way to the phone cable that goes through the pc into your phone box, so you need a pc to do it, mario kart double dash worked with it, does anyone know of this?

Yeah this is what I was thinking about, but xlink kai was all I could think of.
