looking for hard drive enclosure that gets power from USB/FW

meh. not going to bother. right now, I have more important things to focus on. namely, patiently waiting until thinkgeek has their 3.5 inch hard drive enclosures with the cool lights in stock again.

is it bad that I want to cause a massive increase of stuff being downloaded so I have an excuse to get more hard drives and have about five enclosures stacked on top of eachother?

also, do they make firewire hubs? just curious.

I don't see the point in getting a 1TB hard drive when it'd be half the price to make a 1TB RAID array out of 200GB drives :)

1 it seems that i cant link to apple sites
2 the thing apple was selling was a raid array
3 dont you mean 250GB drives :wink:

maybe he thought 5 200GB drives, assuming you can use USB or something as one of the discs. I don't know too much about RAID.

I know that you can use 5 hdd's im just not sure if you can use one of them fully.

actually you have to interface raid arrays into a raid card, so the 2 ide slots on the mobo would still be open. :)
