MP3 DVD player?
I have an MP3 CD player but it'd be groovy if it could play MP3 DVDs. Would it be possible to switch out the CD drive for a DVD drive? And if it is possible, would it be able to read DVDs?
Some portable DVD players likely will play MP3s off DVDs. But I don't know which ones. With my settop box DVD players, only one (Philips DVP-642) can play MP3s off DVDs, but the others can only play MP3s off CDs.
As for replacing the drive of your MP3 CD player, marshallh is right. It woudn't know how to control the DVD drive as density, sectors, and other differences would render it useless, even if you managed to get the physical and electrical to work together. Additionally, DVD use UDF formating, whereas CDs use ISO9660.
