TMNT!!!

Post by CronoTriggerfan »

 Anyone else see it yet? It was awesome! I saw it Friday night, and it was great. Corny plot, over-the-top ninja action, lame jokes; it held very true to the original. The turtles are back!!!

Surprisingly, the majority of the people in the audience were 15-25 year olds who just wanted to relive a piece of their childhood, there weren't many kids there at all.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. :D

I own the first 3 movies on DVD (they're classics after all!) and saw them in the theater when they originally came out. Those were good times!

I was pretty excited about this new one until I heard that Shredder wasn't going to be in it. That pretty much took the wind out of my sails with regards to the "new" TMNT.

I'm sure I'll still check it out at some point, but it may not be until DVD now.

Since this one has been surprisingly successful, maybe they'll make another and bring back Shredder, Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady, and the Rat King.

Now that would rock!!! :D

It was terrible IMO. Even for a kids movie. Too much meaningless generic filler, and the most worthless plot. I know.... It's TMNT, talking turtles, but this was bad for a completely different reason. TMNT is supposed to be over the top goofy and ridiculous, this was made as if it's supposed to be a colossal serious action movie on par with Spider-Man or something. It just didn't work. Made me want to watch the old series again, to see if they were even near this bad. I remember them as MUCH better, but being a kid messes with your judgement.

AND NO SHREDDER! There was all of 3 seconds spent on why he wasn't in it, and that was it. They didn't even give us a flashback of him getting beat down. The movie was basically just a giant teaser for the return of shredder.

It was still fun though, just because I got to see my little brother gasp at the coolness that is TMNT :D

G-force, I can tell you that I have recently (within the last year) seen one or more of the original acted TMNT movies, and they still rock.

I think I like the ninja turtles too much to see this new movie
I'll probably wait for DVD. even the old turtles movies weren't that good. Go ninja, go ninja, go

the GBA game based on it is really incredible, though. Buy it before it vanishes. It's an oldschool brawler like the konami arcade game, but with RPG leveling and upgrade features. It's a little short, but I haven't tried it on the real difficulty levels yet. Since the game doesn't have the old music, I'm going to assume the movie doesn't either. I think that was my favorite part.
still, I dare say it's my favorite turtles game ever. ign link

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWMOLBAxEvw&NR is way better. Kinda reminds me of Ben, except for Ben it wouldn't be a parody, and all the "O" sounds would be stretched.

Damn, now I'm all psyched for TMNT stuff :D....gotta get TMNT IV for SNES out, and then find those old TV shows....great memories :D
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Did you guys who are naysaying about Shredder not being in it even watch the movie? They left the door wide open for him and possibly other characters to be in the next one.

I thought the movie was great. That fight seen with Raph and Leo was awesome.

As a side note, I just watched the first movie tonight. Man that stuff was good. Anyone own any of the cartoons on DVD? It's soooo worth it to get it. They only cost like $9 each - I own two of them. The cheap animation cracks me up.

The non-turtle parts of the plot were kinda weak, but the stuff involving the turtles internal conflict was awesome. Me and a huge group saw it Friday(first ones in the theater:D), and while its not the best movie ever(far from), it was definitely worth the price of admission.

And yes the GBA game is fantastic, a little short, but great.
SNESp - 100%
Protable X - 15% - I need money :(

A lot of the new TMNT games they've been coming out with have been really entertaining. I'm still going to go see TMNT just probably not this weekend, hopefully next, we'll see. I'm glad TMNT has came back. I hope Transformers can do OK.
